i've been working on this top. the tutorial is awesome and really easy. the problem is that as much as i want to wear this top and like this top on me--i don't. i look really big in it. or like i'm pregnant. or both. i know i'm not a skinny minny anymore but i do still have a waist. and this shirt does not show any waist on me at all! plus it makes me look at least 40 lbs heavier that i really am. i really don't want to wear anything that adds weight to me! the bottom isn't finished because i'm trying to figure out if i can somehow "fix" this top to flatter my body more. i've tried to add a belt with it. didn't really like that. i've thought about adding a line of shirring under the bust. maybe add a band to the bottom?.... i just don't know. i'm taking it to my sewing class tomorrow in hopes that i will come away with a plan to make this shirt more flattering on me.

(oh yes. as always i'm relying on a 5 yr old for the photos!)

Love the style of the shirt, the fabric is great too. It isn't the most flattering, but I have seen shirts like that a lot lately. I think that's just the style. I don't like it on myself either though. So I hope you find something to do with it, so I can too!

Can I just say I LOVE the way it shows off your Tat? I hope you find a way to make it more flattering, the fabrics are so fun! Before I forget I got the black and white fabric I made that pillow with at Hobby Lobby.

Don't know if you've solved your dilemma yet or not. I was thinking that you might be able to add a solid band of fabric or may a strip of that zebra fabric under the bust to make it more flattering, but it also looks like that might be easier said than done. : ) Hope you're able to figure it out!

I think that if you made it a more cropped shirt, it would look a lot more flattering. It's very cute, just could use a bit of tweeking for the perfect "pow".
