2008-07-29 getting ready for halloween

i made this cute top today. it is fully lined with black satin. this was my "learning" top. as you can see i cut the front piece upside down. *sigh* 'tis ok though. i think it's still cute enough for indyanna to wear. i also didn't do the shoulder seams correctly. again, 'tis ok. it still turned out cute enough to wear!

2008-07-26 the anna wrap dress

first european pattern i've ever attempted. the instructions were kinda confusing and made me read out loud and say hu? lots of times but i finally got it! actually now that i have made one and figured it out i can say that it will be super easy to make more! like you can make one in under 2 hours.

the back is a little wrinkled but that's what a carseat does for you! safety first!

2008-07-21 the sidekick purse

this is the crazy purse that i've been working on for almost 2 weeks now! still not finished with this sucker yet. almost though!

here's the credit card section....

and here's the purse with both sections (a coin purse section and a credit card/check book holder section) sewn onto the purse. the purse is lying flat in this picture.

right now, i am working on the sides. the bias tape is a pain in the butt. i am having to *GASP* hand stitch the bias tape to the purse!

on the right side of the purse in this picture there is a thingy hanging out. it will be sewn in when i hand stitch the bias tape to that side.

2008-07-16 upcycled t shirt pants

i made some cool pants for the kids. they were made from an old t shirt that ryan was gonna throw out. actually he had a whole bag of t shirts he was gonna throw out. but i stopped him. i knew those shirts would come in handy someday!

my cousin emailed me a link to this awesome tute.......

i forgot to take a pic of the shirt first. but here are the two pants legs cut out. (ignore the chalk line drawn on the pants. that line wouldn't have worked.)

all serged up!

couldn't find any regular elastic lying around but i did find some clear elastic. i've had it for a long time! bought it when i was gonna make cloth dipes.

finished. yes the symbol is upside down. it was a learning process OK?!
